01
Install and select a source
- Quit Premiere and install Range Cut from Product Manager. Reopen Premiere and launch Range Cut from the Extensions menu.
- Select one source video in the Project panel and activate the destination sequence. Nested, multicam, and retimed clips are not supported.
02
Enter ranges and insert
- Use the entire source or enter start and end ranges. Seconds, minutes:seconds, hours:minutes:seconds, and NDF frame timecode are supported. Times are relative to the source file and end times are exclusive.
- Check the video/audio tracks and preview before inserting. Ranges are appended to the active sequence in the entered order, including overlapping source ranges.
- New subclips can be extended within the source media boundaries. Restricted subclips created by older versions must be recreated.
03
Optional silence removal
- Install FFmpeg and ffprobe separately. If they are not detected, set the FFmpeg path in the panel and ensure ffprobe is in the same folder.
- Choose the audio stream, channel, and silence settings. Defaults are 0.1 seconds of padding, a −35 dB threshold, and a 0.3-second minimum silence.
